CFPC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program Award

The CFPC Mainpro+ certified CPD program must be shown to have provided an exceptional learning experience as measured by program evaluations completed by participating CFPC members.

  • Program must meet the CFPC definition of an exceptional learning experience(see below for description)
  • Program must be Mainpro+ certified on a national or provincial level at the time of nomination:
  • Program must be offered at least once prior to judging
  • Provider must be willing to submit copies of post-program evaluations (from actual participants) to the CFPC for judging purposes
  • Program must have been developed and implemented from January 2016 to March 2017
  • Programs that have won a CPD Program Award in the past five years are not eligible
  • Residency training programs and programs aimed at pre-licensure family physicians are not eligible

Exceptional learning experiences are defined as programs that satisfy one or more of the following criteria:

  • The program is evaluated by CFPC members and determined to be of great value to the practice of family medicine
  • The program addresses a new topic or area of interest for CPD of family physicians and is important and relevant to the practice of family medicine
  • The program successfully implemented an innovative learning tool and/or instructional model or approach, or incorporated an existing tool or instructional approach in an innovative manner
