The Society of General Practitioners is the economic and political voice of general practice in British Columbia. It advocates for general practitioners’ key role in delivering quality patient-centered health care and helps them achieve maximum professional satisfaction.
The Medical Services Plan (MSP) insures medically-required services provided by physicians and supplementary health care practitioners, laboratory services and diagnostic procedures.
You must first request licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia prior to requesting a MSP billing number.

PharmaNet
PharmaNet is a secure computer network that links community and hospital pharmacies throughout the province.

Requirements:
The physician must be a member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
Each eligible physician in a medical practice must sign a Medical Practice Access to PharmaNet Agreement.
Facilities that choose to implement a wireless connection to PharmaNet must complete and submit an Attestation of Compliance with the Government of British Columbia Wireless Standards - Medical Practice.
In the event of work-related injuries or diseases, WorkSafeBC works with the affected parties to provide return-to-work rehabilitation compensation, health care benefits and a range of other services.

Methadone Program
Physicians must obtain a separate exemption to prescribe methadone for either analgesia or opioid dependency or both.
Apply for exemption to prescribe or obtain a full license through the CPSBC.
