The College of Family Physicians of Canada developed Pearls as an evidence-based
practice reflection exercise. It is a self-directed, self-managed continuing
medical education activity which should enhance the introduction of new knowledge
into practice. Many family physicians use an evidence-based approach to their
practices already. Pearls will allow these people to get recognition for doing
so. For others, it should provide some guidance and useful resources to begin
integrating information into practice in a critical and positive way. Members
who try Pearls should find it challenging and rewarding.
Three (3) Mainpro-C credits will be awarded for
every Pearls exercise duly completed. These can also be used for the annual Mainpro-M1
credit requirements. NEW! The $25.00 fee associated with Pearls has been
waived. All CFPC Members and Non-member Mainpro Participants may participate in this
activity at no additional cost.
