Headache Diary

For patients with recurrent headaches, keeping a diary is often recommended. A research team at the Centre for Research in Family Health, based at the IWK (Izaak Walton Killam) Health Centre in Nova Scotia, has developed an electronic headache diary to help simplify the task. Called the My Wireless Headache Intervention, or myWHI, it goes beyond tracking headache details—such as duration and pain location—to include potential triggers, strategies to manage headaches (eg, medication), and daily details (eg, number of sleep hours). The researchers  believe that the graphical reports will help your patients better understand their headaches and help you make more informed decisions about their care. They invite you to try myWHI with your patients.
