Janus Research Grants and the D. M. Robb Community-Based Research Grant

  1. 1. Janus Research Grants for experienced/intermediate level researchers: up to $15,000 each

This competition will follow the most stringent research guidelines and is open to all levels of researchers. This grant may be requested to conduct a small project or a pilot project in hopes of later attaining large-scale funding from another funder, or for partial funding for a slightly larger project for which additional but inadequate overall funding may have been received (project maximum budget of $25,000). These grants are not intended to be top-up funding for large-scale funded projects with budgets beyond $25,000.

    2. Janus Research Grants for intermediate/novice/beginner level researchers: up to $7,500 each

This competition is to researchers who have never received a grant for more than $10,000. Your submission will be compared with those of your peers and not with those submitted by more experienced researchers who have already received large grants. These grants are not intended to be top-up funding for other funded projects.  The project maximum budget cannot exceed $25,000.

The number and value of grants awarded each year will be determined by the funds available.

    Final Reports

Recipients of the Janus Research Grants are required to provide a final report in the form of a written manuscript, a journal article, or a conference abstract.

The deadline for completion of the project is two years, or December 31, 2019.
