Cervical Cancer Awareness Week October 23 - 29, 2011

The CFPC is proud to support Cervical Cancer Awareness Week hosted by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and the Federation of Medical Women of Canada (FMWC). Family physicians across Canada are invited to participate in the National Pap Test Campaign by hosting public Pap test clinics during October 23 - 29, 2011.

    The College of Family Physicians of Canada’s 8thAnnual Family Doctor Week in Canada • October 31 – November 5, 2011 The College of Family Physicians of Canada proudly acknowledges the outstanding contributions of Canadian family doctors for their dedication to their patients and the delivery of high-quality health care at the CFPC’s annual Family Medicine Forum from November 3-5 in Montreal and will be part of the Family Doctor Week in Canada celebrations happening October 31-November 5, 2011.       The CFPC Announces Canada’s ‘Top Docs’ in Family Medicine at 2011 Family Physicians of the Year Awards in Montreal

      The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is proud to announce the names of the 2011 Family Physicians of the Year - 10 of the most exceptional family physicians from across the country. Every year, the College presents the Reg L. Perkin Award to one family physician from each province in recognition of his/her outstanding patient care; significant contributions to the health and well-being of their respective communities; and commitment to family medicine teaching and research. Award recipients are nominated by their colleagues, patients, community leaders and the CFPC’s provincial chapters.

          The CFPC Honours 17 Medical Students with $170,000 in Medical Student Scholarships

          The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) today honoured 17 of Canada’s most outstanding medical students with the presentation of the 2011 CFPC Medical Student Scholarships. The students – one from each of Canada’s 17 medical schools – each received a $10,000 scholarship. The award ceremony was held during the CFPC’s annual Family Medicine Forum (FMF) at the Palais des congrès de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec.

          The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is working with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Royal College) to pilot Prescribing Safely Canada—a new online tool to help Canadian physicians assess and enhance their prescribing skills.
