    CFPC announces the new director for Certification and Examinations

    (January 22, 2018, Mississauga, ON) - The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brent Kvern to the position of ‎Director, Certification and Examinations, Academic Family Medicine, effective April 2, 2018.

    In memory of Dr. Michael Spooner, CFPC President 1978-1979

    Dr. Michael Spooner was a great guy and a good friend. Mike, married to Donna, was a family physician in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was a warm, friendly person with a great sense of humour. He received Certification in the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 1970, became a Fellow in 1979, and received Life Membership in 2006.

            Best Advice guide on social determinants of health gets a Japanese edition

            The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) has granted permission to the Japan Network of Health Promoting Hospitals (JNHPH) to translate the Best Advice guide Social Determinants of Health. The document, developed in support of the Patient’s Medical Home model of care, provides a background on the social determinants of health and interventions that can be employed at clinical, community, and population levels.
