Family Medicine National Education Administrators (FMNEA) Education Administrator Award of Excellence

Supported by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

The Family Medicine National Education Administrators (FMNEA)’s Education Administrator Award of Excellence recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service in the area of medical education for a department of family medicine education program.

This award is available to current or former education administrators. The award will be presented at the FMNEA’s annual meeting, which is held in conjunction with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)’s annual Family Medicine Forum (FMF).

Service award areas may include, but are not limited to, contributions:

  • Made while serving as a member of the FMNEA Executive
  • Made while serving on an FMNEA committee, subcommittee, ad hoc committee, task force, or special interest group
  • Made while serving as a presenter at an FMNEA national conference
  • Made as a mentor to an FMNEA administrator
  • Recognized by their university’s family medicine education program, as indicated through the nomination
  • Made to the CFPC in their role as an education administrator for a family medicine undergraduate or postgraduate medical education program

Nomination process:

The nomination window opens on February 1, 2017, and will close on April 7, 2017. A nomination must be submitted by completing the nomination package and emailing it to the FMNEA Executive at [email protected] by 4 pm (EDT) on April 7, 2017.

A nomination package must include:

  • A completed nomination form
  • A primary letter of support for the nomination (from the nominator)
  • Two additional letters supporting the nomination
  • The nominee’s curriculum vitae

Selection process:

The FMNEA Executive will select the recipient. All nominations will be considered for the year they are nominated and for the subsequent two years.

The FMNEA Executive will forward the name of the award recipient to the CFPC National Office by April 17, 2017, and after a secondary review process the recipient will be approved and named in August 2017. The award recipient will be listed on the Honours and Awards section of the CFPC website, highlighted in the FMF Awards Gala program, and recognized formally at the FMNEA annual meeting at FMF.
