Collaborative Advisory Group for General & Family Practice Anesthesia (CAGA)

To represent the interests of general and family physician members within a section of Communities of Practice (CPFM) in Family Practice Anesthesia (FPA) and to ensure discussion and communication within The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and its CPFM, the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC) and the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society (CAS) about the issues relevant to these members.

General and family practice anesthetists have expressed a desire that CAGA continue to pursue the possibility of a special designation. The CFPC is currently examining how it can be more supportive to family physicians in this area of practice.

This formative program aims to provide participants with immersive learning experiences through the use of high fidelity simulation. Each simulation scenario will be followed by a structured debriefing session that will promote self reflection. Interactive workshops will allow participants to improve their technical skills in a safe learning environment.
