Updated CATMAT Statement on Zika virus
PHAC recently released updates to the Committee to Advise on Tropical Medicine and Travel’s (CATMAT) statement on the prevention and treatment of Zika virus.


PHAC released a new infographic to provide advice to travellers on how to protect themselves from mosquito-related diseases, including dengue, chikungunya and the Zika virus. Specific advice on how to prevent mosquito bites is featured. The infographic is available on Canada.ca and was promoted through our Healthy Canadians’ channels. We encourage you to share this infographic further in your jurisdictions.

1st case of sexually transmitted Zika virus in Canada 
A joint statement was issued by the CPHO and CMOH of ON confirming the first case of sexually transmitted Zika virus in Canada.
