Canada’s largest family medicine conference Family Medicine Forum (FMF) goes virtual

(Mississauga, ON) Building on the success of Virtual Family Medicine Forum (FMF) 2020, the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)’s flagship conference will happen virtually again this year. FMF will take place from November 10 to 13, 2021, offering four days of engaging sessions, networking, exhibits, and posters and a wealth of inspirational content. It will welcome family physicians, teachers, researchers, residents, and medical students from across the country and around the world.

The lineup of keynote speakers will include:

Dr. Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia
Dr. Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia—A renowned senator, family doctor, and medical educator who will share insights on his journey in “From Rhodesia to the Rock: My journey in generalist practice.”

Dr. James Makokis
Dr. James Makokis—A two-spirit family physician on a mission to change health care outcomes for marginalized Indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ individuals. He will discuss this and more in his presentation “Doctoring the Spirit: Healing with a stethoscope in one hand and sweetgrass in the other.”

Dr. Brian Hodges
Dr. Brian Hodges—A researcher, author, and professor whose research focuses on assessment, competence, compassion, and the future of the health profession. He will discuss “Without compassion, there is no health care.”
