Part of living in the digital era is understanding that our private information is more vulnerable than ever before. News stories about ID theft and data breaches abound, with the effects being felt by millions of consumers. Companies and institutions are constantly working to protect themselves with increasing security measures. At the College, the IT Security & Information Protection Committee (ITS&IPC) meets regularly to review the trends of security incidents in the private industry and in the College.
What can you do?
- Do not use the same password for multiple websites and accounts. Specifically, do not use the same password that you use for your work account on any of the public websites.
- Educate yourself on how to detect phishing emails
