Application deadline for Certificates of Added Competence has been extended

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is accepting online applications for Certificates of Added Competence (CACs) in Enhanced Surgical Skills (ESS) and Obstetrical Surgical Skills (OSS).  Please note that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the application deadline has been extended to September 30, 2020.

If you have been considering applying for a CAC, we encourage you to act now. This is a one-time opportunity for you to gain recognition of your expertise, based on your previously acquired competencies. After this, the routes to a CAC will be either through the completion of accredited residency training, or through the practice-eligible route. This route, which is still under construction, will be geared to physicians who are not currently practising in this domain of care, but would like to acquire the necessary skill set without completing a residency program.
