Revised public campaign highlights safe and ongoing access to family physicians

Following a short suspension in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our My Family Doctor Cares public campaign relaunched in mid-April with a new focus on the importance of patients continuing to access care from their family physician—whether through phone call, video call, or in person where safe and necessary. Put simply, “your doctor is in.”

The campaign continues to promote the value of comprehensive, longitudinal care provided by a family physician. We are letting British Columbians know that, whether they have a new health care issue, a chronic condition, or a need for mental health support, it is more important than ever that they maintain their health through ongoing care from the person who knows them best: their family physician.

Our campaign lets the public know that family physicians have rapidly adapted their practices to create safe options for virtual or in-person visits. The My Family Doctor Cares website informs patients of their options and lets them know what to expect from their appointment. The website also connects patients with trusted and updated sources of COVID-19 information.
