Who we are

The Emergency Medicine Program Committee represents family physician members with a special interest in emergency medicine and ensures discussion and communication of relevant issues within the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and its Section of Communities of Practice in Family Medicine (CPFM).

Responsibilities

The Committee discusses and makes recommendations to the CPFM Council with respect to these CFPC activities:

  • Communications and networking among members involved in Emergency Medicine
  • Development of CFPC policies and/or positions related to patient care and the practice needs/environment of members involved in emergency medicine
  • Advocacy on behalf of members involved in the emergency medicineIdentification of areas in need of accredited continuing medical education (CME)/CPD programs related to emergency medicine
