Who we are

The Respiratory Medicine Program Committee advocates for high quality care in respiratory health and provides leadership in areas of respiratory education, policy development, best practice guidelines and research addressing the needs of family physicians in this special interest field. The Committee is the trusted voice of family physicians in the prevention and management of patients with respiratory conditions in Canada.

The Respiratory Medicine Program Committee discusses and makes recommendations to the Member Interest Groups Section (MIGS) with respect to these College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) activities:

  • Communications and networking among members involved in respiratory medicine
  • Development of CFPC policies and/or positions related to patient care and the practice needs/environment of members involved in respiratory medicine
  • Advocacy on behalf of the members involved in respiratory medicine
  • Identification of areas in need of accredited continuing medical education (CME)/continuing professional development (CPD) programs related to respiratory medicine

The Respiratory Medicine Program Committee was established under the CPFM in 2010.
