A message of thanks from the CFPC during the COVID-19 pandemic

On behalf of the CFPC, I want to say thank you to the family doctors, residents, and medical students who are working tirelessly to care for their patients and communities during the COVID-19 crisis. I want to acknowledge the fear, anxiety, and uncertainty you are feeling right now and tell you that we appreciate your dedication.

We are focused right now on providing you with timely resources on COVID-19. These include weekly clinical webinars, regular email updates, podcasts, and a curated list of helpful links on our website.

We have also extended timelines for CPD requirements and have influenced medical regulatory authorities in facilitating provisional licensure for graduating family medicine residents.

As always, we are advocating for your needs at the federal level in productive conversations with leaders in government and public health. Our provincial Chapters are also contributing to important discussions at the provincial level.

Thank you again for all you do and for the assurance you bring to everyone in Canada. Please make sure you also take care of yourself and connect with your loved ones.
