CFPC Position Statement on Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination for Health Care Workers

2021-08-12

(Mississauga, ON) Canada’s family doctors are there to care for everyone living in Canada, for any medical condition. This includes discussing vaccination concerns with their patients.

Informed by a recent statement issued by the Canadian Medical Association and Canadian Nurses Association, the CFPC supports mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for all health care workers who provide direct patient care. Canada is at risk of experiencing a fourth COVID-19 wave; a significant number of people in Canada remain unvaccinated as of the date of this statement.

No one is safe until we are all safe.

Vaccination is our best chance to manage this pandemic and reduce the risk of the emergence of new variants.
