The former Medical Officer of Health for the Region of Peel has served in physician leadership roles over the past decade at all three levels of government in Ontario and British Columbia including the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Recognized as one of Toronto Life’s Top 50 Influential Torontonians, Dr. Loh’s team directed measures to save lives and mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 in one of the hardest hit communities in Canada while also delivering 3.3 million doses of vaccines as part of the largest vaccination rollout in Canadian history. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto and a clinical lecturer at the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
Dr. Loh told Canadian Family Physician he is excited to lead the CFPC as the College “tackles the unprecedented challenges facing family medicine today.”
“We must speak with a louder voice to highlight family medicine’s vital role as the foundation of the health care system…” he told CFP. “[…] We must figure out ways to better resource and structure family practices so that family doctors are supported and can take care of themselves as they take care of patients.”
Welcome Dr. Loh.
