In Memoriam – Dr. Sarah Kredentser

It’s with heavy hearts that we share the news that our valued colleague, Dr. Sarah Kredentser, passed away on July 26, 2024.

Sarah was the CFPC President in 2008, the Manitoba College of Family Physicians President in 1990, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba President from 2003 to 2004. Sarah was honoured as the Manitoba’s Family Physician of the Year in 1996.

Sarah had a passion for family medicine, bringing her enthusiasm and commitment to patients, medical students and residents, and colleagues. She practised in Boston, Massachusetts, after her residency in Manitoba, returning to the province to work at various hospitals, both as a preceptor and as a family doctor practicing obstetrics.

At the CFPC, Sarah was an advocate for excellence in family medicine and for acknowledging family physicians with special interests. Sarah was a strong supporter of family medicine-based obstetrical care. Throughout her career, Sarah worked to develop a sustainable model of delivery of low-risk obstetrics, with the goal of encouraging more family doctors to offer this level of patient care.
