Thank you for all you do and for being a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).

Many family doctors like you shared with us the challenges of excessive paperwork. The CFPC has been calling for governments to reduce the administrative burden on family physicians like you.

The Disability Tax Credit (DTC) form consumes up to 250,000 hours from family doctors' time every year. We agree that disability benefits are critical social supports but, as you have told us, family doctors should not be required to police this benefit without receiving remuneration from governments.

You are a valued leader in your community and we need your voice! Please consider sending an automated letter to your federal elected representative, requesting this change.

We’d also like to hear your stories, which would help us showcase how DTC paperwork takes time away from patient care as well as your evenings and weekends. We’ve heard some stories, but we need more to show that this is a widespread problem that needs to be addressed urgently.
