Family Medicine Forum is the one-stop conference for family physicians in Canada

October 22, 2018

(October 22, 2018, Mississauga, ON) Representing more than 37,000 members from across the country, the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) will host its annual Family Medicine Forum (FMF) from November 14th to November 17th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) in Toronto.

The four-day conference will welcome more than 4,000 family physicians, family medicine residents, medical students, and other health professionals. It will feature more than 300 continuing professional development (CPD) sessions, 50 hands-on workshops, networking events, an exhibit hall with more than 250 exhibitors, and the annual Awards Gala celebrating some of family medicine’s most accomplished physician leaders from across the country.

“We are excited to launch many new initiatives this year. There’s a new mentoring program to support students and family medicine residents; we have added a fourth keynote speaker; and family physicians can earn CPD credits that count toward their annual requirements to maintain their certification,” says FMF Committee Co-chair Dr. Leslie Griffin. “We are incredibly proud of our scientific program, which offers 350 sessions and workshops that deliver relevant, evidence-based, and timely content for family doctors.”

Here’s a preview of the exciting roster of keynote speakers we have lined up:

  • Dr. Michael Kidd: “A Call to Heal” on Wednesday, November 14th
  • Neil Pasricha: “The Happiness Equation” on Thursday, November 15th
  • Dr. Cindy Blackstock: “Equitable Health Care for First Nations Children: Realizing the goals of Jordan’s Principle and the Spirit Bear Plan” on Friday, November 16th
  • Karl Subban: “How Did You Do It? Team Subban’s Vision for Success” on Saturday, November 17th

“FMF offers delegates up-to-date technology to enhance their conference experiences, including: bar code badges to make CPD credit reporting automatic; three days of live-streamed events; and an FMF app to allow attendees to access daily schedules, take notes on daily sessions and speakers, and much more,” adds FMF Committee Co-chair Dr. Stephen Hawrylyshyn. “We are proud to host FMF─ Canada’s largest family medicine conference.”
