Notice re Epi-Pen shortage

July 19, 2019

The CFPC has been advised of a shortage of the EpiPen 0.3MG/0.3ML auto-injectors (used for adults and children over 20kg) on the drug shortages website. The shortage is expected to last until early October.

As a prevention measure, Pfizer Canada will manage the available EpiPen 0.3 mg supply in Canada through measured national allocation to wholesalers. There will be close monitoring of supply and demand. This allocation intends to protect stock for the peak season for EpiPens which occurs at the beginning of the school year (late Aug to mid-September).
