Dear colleagues,

It’s been just over a year since we found ourselves living and working in profoundly different circumstances as COVID-19 took hold in communities across Canada.

I cannot thank you enough for all you’ve done for your patients and colleagues and for supporting the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) through your insight and expertise.

April 18th to 24th is National Volunteer Week 2021. The theme is “the value of one, the power of many.”

Your commitment to family medicine and to the CFPC has allowed us to be stronger for every one of our 40,000 members, and to provide meaningful services, resources, policies, and initiatives in these unusual and trying times.

In a year like no other and when time is such a precious commodity, we thank our volunteers for your time and expertise. Without you we could not accomplish what we do.

All things must pass, and we will see an end to the current measures that have kept us apart. However, we still have a long road ahead. We’ll get there together, and we will have learned invaluable lessons along the way.

Thank you for everything you do and thank you for supporting the CFPC.

Sincerely,

Francine Lemire, MD CM, CCFP, FCFP, CAE, ICD.D
Executive Director and CEO, CFPC
