A message of thanks to volunteers from the CFPC’s Executive Director and CEO

2022-04-22

Dear colleagues,

Reflecting on the past year, we find ourselves today still managing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am grateful to you for continuing to dedicate your time to your patients, colleagues, profession, and to the CFPC. Your expertise and insight are vital to our work and to meeting the needs of our communities across Canada.

The theme of National Volunteer Week, April 24–30, 2022, is Volunteering: Empathy in Action. It affirms the strong connection between volunteerism and empathy. Giving your time connects members from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, and expands our views. It can build capacity to work collectively and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive society.

Your commitment to family medicine and to the CFPC has allowed us to be stronger for every one of our 42,000 members and continue to work to improve the lives of all people in Canada.

Together we can effect positive change and together we will get there, and we will continue to learn from each other and the patients and the communities we serve.

Thank you for everything you do and thank you for supporting the CFPC.

Sincerely,
Francine Lemire, MD CM, CCFP, FCFP, CAE, ICD.D
Executive Director and CEO
The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
