Thank you—volunteering weaves us together

2023-04-16

Hello,

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continuing dedication to your patients, colleagues, and the CFPC. Your expertise, insight, and knowledge are vital to making a difference in the lives of people living in Canada.

During National Volunteer Week this year, April 16th to 22nd, we would also like to acknowledge the vital role you play in helping the CFPC advance family medicine. This year’s theme is Volunteering Weaves Us Together, which reveals how volunteering brings strength and vibrancy to communities, including the family medicine community.

Family physicians are the backbone of our health care system and leaders in primary care. Not everyone can be a family physician—it takes a special person with unique skills to provide continuity of care to entire families through all stages of their lives. Family medicine is hard. But it is also rewarding as we get to cover aspects of the human condition and help improve our patients’ lives.

Your commitment and willingness to share your time and talents helps the CFPC continue to be the voice of family medicine and advocate on behalf of members, ensuring the work of family physicians is supported, recognized, and celebrated now and into the future.

With thanks,

Christie Newton, MD, CCFP, FCFP
