January was Mentorship Month

The Chapter is very proud to share news about one of the Mentorship Program Committee’s outstanding achievements, which appears in the Mentorat Québec mentorship kit. On page 29 of the 2021 mentorship kit (available to download for free; French only) is the article entitled “Le mentorat : un espace de sécurité psychologique pour surmonter les défis,” which looks at mentorship as a psychologically safe space for overcoming challenges. This article was written by Dr. Dominique Deschênes, the program committee President, and Geneviève Bolduc, the program Co-ordinator, and was published as part of Mentorship Month (January) and the 2021 Mentorship Forum (Mentorat Québec).

Also available is Episode 5 (23 minutes) on the podcast list—an excellent interview with Dominique and Geneviève about mentorship.

QCFP Day 2021 – Save the date: June 4, 2021

It will be an online event.

The event, which is organized by the QCFP’s succession planning committee, aims to empower early-career physicians, residents, and any family physicians who are facing challenges with organizing their practice. Mark your calendar! The program and registration period will be announced shortly.

QCFP in the news

At the dawn of 2021, QCFP President Dr. Caroline Laberge shared her thoughts in the ProfessionSanté article “Repenser nos façons de faire.”

In this article, Dr. Laberge refers to 2020 and the pandemic that defined last year, and highlights the fact that an unforeseen event takes us out of our comfort zone and stimulates our creativity, leading us to constantly readjust and revise the way we do things in both our personal and professional lives.
