Show your support on May 19th for Family Doctor Day

2021-04-28

(Mississauga, ON) The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is proud to celebrate Family Doctor Day on May 19th, 2021. Family Doctor Day acknowledges family physicians’ outstanding work and the central role they play in our communities and in our health care system—particularly as frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past year family doctors have quickly adapted to accommodate their patients’ needs during the pandemic by incorporating virtual care visits for patients into their practices; providing their expertise to hospitals and long-term care homes; volunteering to support the medical community outside their regular practices; advocating for enhancements to the health care system; and educating people about the importance of vaccinations and following public health recommendations to prevent the community spread of COVID-19.

Join us on May 19th in acknowledging family physicians

We invite you to recognize the hard work and dedication of all family physicians across Canada—in every community, big and small—who are on the front lines of care and often the first point of contact for patients. Show your support of family doctors on May 19th by acknowledging family physicians with a “shout out” to your viewers or audience:

Today we join the College of Family Physicians of Canada in celebrating Family Doctor Day! We want to acknowledge and thank our family doctors across the country for their outstanding strength and perseverance as they continue to support their patients and communities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
