BCCFP launches new brand and website

Thriving family physicians leading the way to a healthy British Columbia – that’s our vision, and it’s at the centre of our refreshed brand identity.

Water is a source of life – and a source of healing and unity in many Indigenous communities. As a coastal province, our new brand draws inspiration from raindrops creating ripples on water, symbolizing how a family physician’s impact extends far beyond individual interactions.

Family medicine is the quiet moments of compassion, the guidance through life’s milestones, and the connections that ripple outward – strengthening families, communities, and generations.

Our redesigned website has been built with our members and partners in mind. It’s now easier than ever to find relevant family medicine resources, browse and register for BCCFP events and programs, get involved with advocacy efforts, and stay informed about what’s happening in the family medicine ecosystem.

With our refreshed brand and redesigned website, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering, connecting, and advocating for family physicians across the province.

Together, we will continue to advance the vital role of family medicine and celebrate its impact on the health and well-being of all British Columbians.

Medical Students: Join us for the 2025 Dinner with Docs series this fall

Each year, we invite UBC medical students to Dinner with Docs, an evening of informal, small group discussion with family physicians from across the province.

Dinner with Docs is part of the BCCFP’s work in promoting family medicine to the British Columbia family physicians of the future. The annual fall events provide medical students with the opportunity to speak with several family physicians over the course of an evening and ask questions in a small group setting.

Physicians who work in a variety of practice settings rotate through different discussion tables and demonstrate the diversity of family practice.

This year we will have events at:

  • Prince George, September 18
  • Vancouver, October 7
  • Kelowna, October 9
  • Victoria, October 27

Students interested in attending should check their inboxes for a registration link from the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) or email [email protected]  to secure their spot. Don’t wait too long, spots fill up quickly and you might end up on a waitlist.
