For all residents: New – A review course in French for the Certification Examination in Family Medicine
The QCFP is proud to announce the first review course in French in preparation for the CFPC’s Certification Examination in Family Medicine. This course was put together by the TRUST-MF Team: Transparency, Rigor, Utility, Stewardship in knowledge Translation in Family Medicine, an initiative of the QCFP. The goal is to guide residents in their exam preparation.

2026 Board Nominations
Every fall, the BCCFP opens applications to members to sit on our Board of Directors to help set the organization’s strategic focus, engage in meaningful discussion about the future of family medicine, and participate in diverse committees.
We are seeking Board members who reflect the values, scope, and diversity of family practice in British Columbia. On September 15, 2026, an email will go out to eligible members with a link to our online nominations form.
Joining the BCCFP Board of Directors is a wonderful opportunity to connect with family physician leaders around the province, and help shape the future of family medicine.
All eligible candidates are welcome to put their name forward and will take part in the election. Similar to previous years, returning Directors will be identified on the election ballot.
Nominations will open on September 15, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. (PT) and will be accepted until October 9, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. (PT).
Medical Students: Join us for the 2026 Dinner with Docs series this fall
Each year, we invite UBC medical students to Dinner with Docs, an evening of informal, small group discussion with family physicians from across the province.
Dinner with Docs is part of the BCCFP’s work in promoting family medicine to the British Columbia family physicians of the future. The annual fall events provide medical students with the opportunity to speak with several family physicians over the course of an evening and ask questions in a small group setting.
Physicians who work in a variety of practice settings rotate through different discussion tables and demonstrate the diversity of family practice.
This year we will have events in Prince George, Vancouver, Surrey, Kelowna, and Victoria.
Students interested in attending should check their inboxes for a registration link from the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) or email [email protected] to secure their spot. Don’t wait too long! Spots fill up quickly and you might end up on a wait-list.
