The CFPC Honours 17 Medical Students with $170,000 in Medical Student Scholarships

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) today honoured 17 of Canada’s most outstanding medical students with the presentation of the 2011 CFPC Medical Student Scholarships. The students – one from each of Canada’s 17 medical schools – each received a $10,000 scholarship. The award ceremony was held during the CFPC’s annual Family Medicine Forum (FMF) at the Palais des congrès de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is working with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Royal College) to pilot Prescribing Safely Canada—a new online tool to help Canadian physicians assess and enhance their prescribing skills.

      Letter to Prime Minister concerning the reduction of Canadian sodium consumption

      In cooperation with our national health care colleagues, the CFPC is pleased to support a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper regarding a plan to reduce sodium consumption by Canadians in the interest of their health and well-being.

      A record number of medical graduates matched to residency training programs in Canada this year, the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) announced today. A total of 3060 medical graduates were matched in the 2012 R-1 Main Residency Match and will begin their postgraduate training on July 1, 2012.
