      The CFPC commends the recommendation for a universal public pharmacare plan

      (April 19, 2018, Mississauga, ON) - The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) applauds the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health for recommending a universal, single-payer, public pharmacare plan. The CFPC continues to advocate for such an approach and has urged all federal political parties to adopt this model as part of its Report Card document, The Role of the Federal Government in Health Care.

        Choosing Wisely Canada launches “Opioid Wisely”

        (Ottawa – March 1, 2018) – Choosing Wisely Canada is launching a new campaign today to raise awareness around the importance of clinician-patient conversations to reduce harms associated with opioid prescribing. The Opioid Wisely campaign is supported by over 30 organizations representing doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, other health professionals, as well as patients and their families.
