May 19, 2023 is World Family Doctor Day
Join us on May 19th as we celebrate World Family Doctor Day! In alignment with the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), we want to further recognize the exceptional efforts and unwavering commitment exhibited by family physicians, especially in the face of the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Family doctors are the heart of the health care system.
Family physicians are the backbone of the health care system and collaborative leaders in primary care.
Family physician’s skill set is unmatched and unique within the primary care landscape. This makes them a foundational and indispensable part of teams that are necessary to address the added complexity presented by Canadian patients today.
That’s why we are using World Family Doctor Day as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of family physicians in Canada.
The CFPC is in our members corner, and we remain tirelessly devoted to:
- Recognizing the unique role of family physicians in primary care
- Advancing the interests of members
- Advocating for the issues that continue to affect the profession
- Listening + Learning and moving forward together
