    • Your renewal is due July 1st. If fees remain unpaid after September 10th, your membership will be discontinued and a $154 reactivation fee will apply at the time of reinstatement, in addition to relevant national/Chapter fees.

CPD infographicFor current subscribers to CFPCLearn and/or the Self Learning Program:

    • To unsubscribe from CFPCLearn or The Self Learning Program, please send an email to the Member Care Centre at [email protected] and wait for an email confirmation that your renewal invoice has been adjusted before completing your renewal payment.
  • Retirement

You may request to update your membership class to Non-Practising if:

    • You are retired from practice and do not have work related to the medical field; and,
    • You no longer require access to the Mainpro+® platform for reporting for CPD credits.

If you are maintaining your medical licence, please confirm any CPD requirements with your licensing body before updating your class.

Non-Practising Class membership is complimentary and CPD is not required.

If you are retiring during the 2026/27 billing period, or you still require access to the Mainpro+ platform, you may be eligible for a reduced fee. Review the reduced fee option criteria on your renewal, and select the appropriate option, if applicable.

  • Reduced fee option

The CFPC offers a fee reduction on the full national membership fee for eligible members. The reduced fee is available to Practising Class members (excluding residents):

    • who anticipate a temporary leave from employment for health or family reasons that will exceed four (4) months in the July 1st to June 30th period; or,
    • whose projected net professional income for the July 1 to June 30 period will be $80,000 CAD or less.

Net professional income refers to pre-tax income earned from all professional sources (e.g., from employment or self-employment, contract or consulting work, investments and/or rental income, and government benefits such as EI or parental benefits), reduced by allowable business or professional expenses such as office rent, utilities, malpractice premiums, and other office-related costs, including staff salaries.

Members whose net income is $80,000 CAD or less because they are on sabbatical leave or extended vacation leave are not eligible for the reduced fee.

Members practising outside of Canada are eligible for the reduced fee option only if their net professional income is less than $80,000 CAD during the July 1st to June 30th period, after conversion from their local currency to Canadian dollars. Members may be required to provide documentation confirming their income and the applicable currency conversion if requested.

A fee reduction also applies to Chapter fees other than Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.

To request a reduced fee, check the box for the reduced fee criteria that applies to you on the first page of your online renewal form, complete the rest of your renewal, and your invoice will be updated automatically. If you require assistance, please contact the Member Care Centre ([email protected]).

Members applying for a reduced fee may be subject to an audit, in which the CFPC may request supporting documentation and verify the information provided. If a member does not provide suitable documentation within the specified time frame, or if they are deemed ineligible for the reduced fee following an audit, the member will be:

    • Required to pay the difference between the reduced fee and the full Practising Class fee.
    • Ineligible for a reduced fee in the following two (2) fee periods; and,
    • In extreme circumstances, for instance where the member is found to have knowingly provided false information, may face suspension or revocation of CFPC membership in accordance with the CFPC’s Member Code of Conduct.
  • Moving to another province/territory or country

Moving to another province, territory, or country does not impact your national membership fee; however, your Chapter fee, if applicable, may change. Chapter changes will be reflected on the next renewal invoice (2027/28).

If you have moved, make sure your address and licence information are up to date:
