Dr. Milena Forte is a family physician at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. She is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto (U of T) and the Postgraduate Lead for the Office of Education Scholarship. She earned her medical degree at Western University and completed her family medicine training at McMaster University. She subsequently completed a Women’s Health Scholar Fellowship at the U of T.
Her main areas of scholarship include maternity care and medical education. Dr. Forte has led and supported a variety of research teams that have contributed to the literature on assessment and professional identity formation in postgraduate education. In addition, she has championed family medicine-maternity care nationally as Chair of the CFPC Maternity and Newborn Care Member Interest Group. Dr Forte has authored a number of research papers and op-eds, as well as national and international guidelines in maternity care. She is the lead editor of the anthology Full Circle: A collection of family medicine birth stories.
