Dr. Roop Conyers

Dr. Roop Conyers was elected Director in 2025.

Dr. Conyers received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2001. He completed his residency at McMaster University, where he also earned his Doctor of Philosophy-Pharmacology & Physiology. He was awarded Certification in the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2007 and Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2023.

Dr. Conyers is a rural generalist who practises family, hospitalist, and emergency medicine at Annapolis Collaborative Practice and Annapolis Community Health Centre in Nova Scotia, where he is also the Site Medical Lead. At Dalhousie University, he serves as an assistant professor and a primary resident preceptor in the Department of Family Medicine. He is also a past postgraduate site director (Annapolis Valley site) and an internal reviewer for their Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME). He also sits on the PGME Education Advisory Committee, and he is a Peer Reviewer for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.

In 2018 Dr. Conyers received the Nova Scotia College of Family Physicians (NSCFP) Physician of the Year Award and the CFPC’s Family Physician of the Year – Dr. Reg L. Perkin Award for Nova Scotia, recognizing his contributions to family medicine. Dr. Conyers sits on the CFPC’s Family Medicine Specialty Committee and on the NSCFP Board. He also holds membership in the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada.
