Dr. Roop Conyers was elected Director in 2025.

Dr. Conyers received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2001. He completed his residency at McMaster University, where he also earned his Doctor of Philosophy-Pharmacology & Physiology. He was awarded his Certification in the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2007and his Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2023.

Dr. Conyers is a rural generalist who practises family, hospitalist, and emergency medicine at Annapolis Collaborative Practice and Annapolis Community Health Centre in Nova Scotia, where he is also the Site Medical Lead. At Dalhousie University, he serves as an assistant professor and a primary resident preceptor in the Department of Family Medicine. He was also an internal reviewer of their Postgraduate Medical Education and Selection Committee and sits on the Education Advisory Committee.  Additionally, he is a Peer Reviewer for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.

In 2018, Dr. Conyers received the CFPC’s Family Physician of the Year – Dr. Reg L. Perkin Award for Nova Scotia, recognizing his contributions to family medicine.

Dr. Conyers sits on the CFPC’s Family Medicine Specialty Committee and on the NSCFP Board. He also holds membership in the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada.
