What we do

The Assessment Objectives Committee is a sub-committee of the Certification Process and Assessment Committee (CPAC). Its purpose is to ensure the currency, relevance, and validity of the Assessment Objectives for the Purpose of Certification in Family Medicine.

  1. Regularly review the Assessment Objectives for Family Medicine, using organizationally approved methodology.
  2. Recommend any edits, updates and/or additions to the Assessment Objectives documents to CPAC when appropriate. Final approval of changes to the Assessment Objectives document will be made by the Family Medicine Specialty Committee.
  3. Develop key features and observable behaviours for the assessment of competence for the approved priority topics and themes of skill dimensions.
  4. Ensure all products are appropriately mapped to the essential skills dimensions and phases of clinical encounter
