Practicing in LTC Homes: Broad, collaborative, and compassionate care

The Quebec College of Family Physicians (QCFP) and its community of practice for physicians working in long-term care homes (CHSLDs) are proud to present the La médecine en CHSLD – Des soins diversifiés, collaboratifs et humains campaign. Here is a video excerpt that aims to promote this type of practice to new and future family physicians, as well as family physicians who are thinking about refocusing their career.

It follows Dr. Bao Phan, a family doctor, through a typical day working at the Centre d'hébergement Réal-Morel. This day sees her interacting with patients, working with her team, and collaborating with colleagues in other disciplines, while also highlighting her teaching and co-management roles. We hope you enjoy watching the video!

Please share it on social media to help raise awareness of this beautiful practice focus!

A highly successful Journée CQMF 2024!

Nearly 200 participants gathered at the Palais des congrès de Montréal on Friday, June 14 for Journée CQMF 2024. This year, the theme was Compassionate and relevant care to support older patients on their aging journey.

All through the day, participants took part in clinical workshops and engaged in further reflection during inspiring keynotes and a captivating panel discussion on the way we provide health care in the context of an aging population.

This event also provided a networking opportunity for members for the community of practice for physicians working in long-term care homes (CHSLDs) during an in-person meeting!
