Claiming Credits from National and International Organizations
The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) has a reciprocal credit reporting agreement with the following partner organizations:
Collège des médecins du Québec
The Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ) accredits continuing professional development (CPD) organizations in the province of Quebec that wish to grant CPD credits. Mainpro+® users can claim an unlimited number of CMQ Category A credits (les activités de développement professionnel reconnues/Accredited Professional Development Activities) as Mainpro+ certified credits. Category B credits (les activités d’évaluation de l’exercice reconnues/Accredited Evaluation Activities) can be claimed as Mainpro+ Certified Assessment credits.American Academy of Family Physicians
The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP is the accrediting body for family medicine CPD/continuing medical education (CME) in the United States.Prescribed credits can be claimed as the equivalent number of Mainpro+ certified credits, and Elective credits can be claimed as the equivalent number of Mainpro+ non-certified credits. There is no limit to the number of prescribed or elective credits that can be reported.

The CFPC also accepts credits from these organizations:
American Medical Association (AMA)
Members may claim up to 50 Mainpro+ certified credits per five-year cycle from Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) Category 1 credits. Any additional credits are eligible as non-certified credits.Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Royal College)
Members may claim Mainpro+ Certified or Certified Assessment credits for activities accredited through the Royal College Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program:- Accredited Section 1 MOC activities are eligible for Mainpro+ Certified credits and can be entered as one credit per hour.
- Accredited Section 3 MOC activities are eligible for Mainpro+ Certified Assessment credits and can be entered as one credit per hour.
- A combined maximum of 50 Mainpro+ certified and/or certified assessment credits may be claimed for Accredited Section 1 and Accredited Section 3 credits per five-year cycle.
- Any additional credits are eligible as non-certified credits.
Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)
- The RACGP records its members’ CPD in hours as per MBA CPD standards. The CFPC recognizes RACGP CPD activities at a rate of one credit per activity hour.
- RACGP Approved/Accredited Educational and Measuring Outcomes Activities are eligible for Mainpro+ certified credits at a rate of one credit per activity hour. RACGP Approved/Accredited Performance Review activities are eligible for Mainpro+ Certified Assessment Credits at a rate of one credit per activity hour.
- Non approved/accredited or self-reported activities are eligible for Mainpro+ non-certified credits, at a rate of one credit per activity hour.
Getting credit for other international activities
Mainpro+ participants can complete the International CPD Activities (Individual Consideration) form to see if certified or non-certified credits can be awarded for CPD activities certified by other organizations outside of Canada and the United States.Log in to Mainpro+
