The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) has a reciprocal credit reporting agreement with the following partner organizations:
Collège des médecins du Québec
The Collège des médecins du Québec accredits CPD organizations in the province of Quebec that wish to grant CPD credits. Mainpro+ users can claim Quebec Category 1 credits as certified credits in the Mainpro+ system. Quebec Category 1 credits can be claimed in all three Mainpro+ activity categories: Group Learning, Self-Learning, and Assessment. There is no maximum number of Quebec Category 1 credits that Mainpro+ users can claim.
American Academy of Family Physicians
The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is the accrediting body for family medicine continuing professional development (CPD)/continuing medical education (CME) in the United States.
Reciprocal credit agreement:
- CFPC members who complete any CPD/CME program accredited by the AAFP for prescribed credit can claim the equivalent number of certified credits
- CFPC members who complete any CPD/CME program accredited by the AAFP for elective credit can claim the equivalent number of non-certified credits

The CFPC will accept credits from these organizations:
American Medical Association
Members may claim certified credits for any American Medical Association (AMA) physician’s recognition award (PRA) Category 1 credits, up to a maximum of 50 credits per five-year cycle. Any additional credits are eligible as non-certified credits.
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of CanadaCFPC members may claim certified credits through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Royal College) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program:
- Accredited Section 1 and Section 3 credits are eligible for certified credits, up to a maximum of 50 credits per five-year cycle; any additional credits are eligible as non-certified credits
- Accredited Section 2 activity credits are eligible for non-certified credits, with no maximum
Other international activities
For any other international activities from outside of North America, complete the Request for Individual Consideration form to determine whether certified or non-certified credits can be awarded. Members can access the form from the member Mainpro+ portal.
